We provide riding lessons for riders over 4 years of age (and under 13 stone).
Our riding instructors offer the highest standards and are approved by The British Horse Society

For adults, and children we start with half-hour beginner riding lessons on a one-to-one basis with an instructor. For 4,5 and 6 year olds we recommend the 20 minutes Tots to Trots lessons.  There is a discount available for all lessons – Buy 5, the 6th is half price, Buy 10, the 11th is free of charge. These can be purchased in the token section on the online booking platform. They are non refundable .

Group lessons are sorted by age and ability. Children need to be walking and trotting independently before joining a group. Check with your instructor if you think you are ready to move to a group. We have 2 adult groups for riders that can walk trot and canter independently

What to wear

If you already own some or all of your own kit we will still ask to see the standard / condition / history / fit and wear of you hat. We hire our hats out x4 at a cost of £1.50. You will need to wear welly boots or shoes with a small heel and a little bit of grip. No open toed shoes / trainers / heavy walking
boots or boots with a zip on the inside. Glove are highly recommended. Trousers / tracksuit bottoms / leggings are suitable. Jeans can really rub on the seams.

No strappy tops/vests. Shoulders and upper arm must be covered

If your hair is longer than shoulder length, you should make sure it is tied back securely

You may get a little warm whilst out riding so layers are recommended. Always dress according to the weather conditions. A full riding wardrobe can be purchased from Widmer feeds country store.
